New Postgraduate Programmes for 2008-09 Entry:

MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation

This exciting one-year MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation aims to enable students to acquire essential knowledge, vital, contemporary skills and competencies, and critical awareness necessary for rewarding careers in dynamic business environments, in government and other policy-making institutions, in non-governmental or community-based organisations, and as potential entrepreneurs creating, managing and sustaining their own enterprises.

Masters Public Enterprise and Management (MPEM)

The programme aims to provide professional, high-quality, relevant and thought-provoking management education and training for public sector and non-governmental organisation managers. The MPEM is concerned with strategic policy and management education, and the development of new entrepreneurial management skills relevant to the public and voluntary sectors.

MSc International Business and Entrepreneurship

The programme is concerned with critical aspects of business formation and development across international borders. It also examines issues related to entrepreneurial management as they apply to different types of organisations in varying stages of formation, development or growth in different international and cultural environments.

MSc International Marketing and Entrepreneurship

The programme looks at critical aspects of marketing strategy, customer-centred business activity and entrepreneurial management as they apply to different types of organisations in varying stages of formation, development or growth in different international and cultural environments.

MSc Social and Community Enterprise Management

This programme is concerned with the highly topical international subject of social and community enterprise. The scheme allows for the critical study of people and organisations engaged in taking risk on behalf of their customers and stakeholders, those who look for new ways in which to serve their constituencies or add value to existing services, and the need to weigh both social and financial return on investments.

MSc Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management

The MSc in Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management offers a thorough understanding of the nature and role of organisations and the management of people at work. It places emphasis on an international perspective of leadership and the management of human resources, and on social and ethical criteria that foster the sustainability of entrepreneurial organisational structures and processes, collaboration, learning, and innovation. This programme will be attractive to students who plan to develop their careers as managers in the private and public sectors, HRM professionals, consultants, training experts and to entrepreneurs and company owners wishing to expand their own business venture internationally. The one year programme for full time students is also available ton part-time students on a modular format (available over a maximum period of 5 years).

MSc Entrepreneurship and Regional Development

The MSc in Entrepreneurship and Regional Development is a new scheme concerned with the growing recognition of the relationships between the economic and social value of entrepreneurship, and the growth and cohesion of urban and rural, core and peripheral, and metropolitan regions worldwide.

MSc International Small Business Management

This multidisciplinary scheme examines the management of small and medium sized enterprises and their links with entrepreneurship. It covers micro and macro issues concerned with the economics, sociology, psychology and management of small businesses, their creation, growth and maturity, the people involved in their creation and management, and the wider environment in which they operate.

MSc Creative Industry Management

The MSc in Creative Industry Management is concerned with the development of innovative leadership capabilities among managers of entrepreneurial organisations in the creative industries of performing and visual arts, new digital media, and design.

PG Cert Creative Industry Management

The Post-Graduate Certificate in Creative Industry Management is made up of two 30 credit modules from the MSc (above). It is aimed at those professionals in the creative industries who wish to study for an award while not undertaking the full commitment of an MSc.
