Dr Mohamed Baka is the Director of the Emirates Centre for Entrepreneurship, based in Abu-Dhabi (UAE). He gained his PhD in Information Technology from Bristol University in the UK and He received executive management training from MIT Sloan, Michigan Business School and the Cranfield School of Management.

Dr Baka has extensive experience in the field of technology management. He has led many projects for blue-chip firms including IBM, Fiat, Tesco and Unilever as part of the ESPRIT Programme. Dr Baka’s academic experience includes a seven year position at Imperial College and a visiting Professorship at Richmond University . He has published numerous papers and cases studies, and has presented at a large number of international conferences and forums. He has an interest in the areas of IT entrepreneurship and IT project management.

Dr Baka has served on the board of several IT start-ups, and is an active member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) in London . He is currently the Chairman of the UAE IT Forum and Vice-President of the Emirates Project Management Association (EPMA). He was the recipient of the prestigious IDC award for the MECIO in 2005.
